Button Necklace Giveaway (and 100th post!)

I am completely bursting with excitement about reaching 100 blog posts! I mulled over starting a blog for a long time before I actually sat down and created one this past May. I knew that when I began blogging I wanted to mean it.

Field Wonderful has given me a great outlet to share things I enjoy, and I always strive to make it a positive place. I'd love for you all to feel that visiting Field Wonderful is like stopping by a friend's house--chatting, laughing, and sharing news over cups of tea (and maybe a slice of cake). That's how I imagine it anyway.

Necklace posing with my school books

To celebrate and to thank you for reading my blog, I'm giving away a button necklace that I made. The details--

Name: Morning Light Button Necklace

Color: Pale, shimmery yellow

Perfect to wear while: sipping coffee at a cafe
shopping at the farmers' market
spending time at the park, etc.

Here's how to win:

Leave a comment on this post letting me know where you would wear this necklace.

Make sure you include your name and email address so that I can contact you if you win.

Anyone can comment to win--I'm willing to ship internationally.

The contest will close at 10 pm EST on September 28, 2009. I'll pick a winner at random and announce the winner soon after.

Good luck!

  1. I love this necklace. I would probably wear it on several occasions. I could see myself wearing it with my best pajama's and sipping coffee on the backdeck. I could also see myself dawning it for Thanksgiving. It is elegant, but at the same time casual.

I think you know where you can find me.

How is school? Do you like walking in Cherokee park? Maybe, if it ever stops raining we could do that!!

  2. Congratualations, Allison! I think all your readers agree that you have a very special blog happening here. My life feels a bit more lovely and charmed each time I visit your blog. (Who would have thought cyberspace could do that!?!!)

Let's see... I would wear the Morning Light Button Necklace on a morning visit (well, more likely a LATE morning or early afternoon visit) to my local organic co-op. On the walk there, I go past a great little art studio that I've never been brave enough to enter. Maybe the button necklace would give me an extra push!

Again, thanks for creating such a lovely blog to visit. We all love it!

  4. Hi Allison! I'm quite impressed with your consistency and diligence in keeping up with your blog! I'd wear the necklace to work - I think it'd go very well with my cardigans and fancy sweaters. But it would also be a pretty touch to any casual ensemble worn to dinner, a movie, the bar or to go bowling! The necklace is quaint, simple and yet Victorian-esque and lovely.

I hope you're doing well. School is kicking my butt as well. I can't wait for the end of the semester! I wish I got to read Little Women instead of Public Policy Analysis!

  6. First of all, congrats on your 100th post!
I'd love to win this darling necklace. I don't know where I'd wear it but I know I'd pair it with a gray top, for sure. I love yellow and gray together.

  9. Just discovered your blog a couple of days ago and I LOVE it, especially the recipes. I'm trying to figure out how to put more variety in my diet while still eating tasty foods.

The necklace is gorgeous. I would probably wear it with a scoop neck top or a simple cotton strapless dress while exploring my new home, the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington state. Hopefully the necklace will get to admire the orcas, harbor seals, sea otters, gray whales, eagles, and other beautiful wildlife and scenery that life on an island in the Pacific Northwest brings. (And how to appreciate nature more than with a warm, steaming mug of coffee or tea in hand?)

  10. Hi Allison! This is Mary (you may know me as Christine's sister). This is all so charming! (your blog, that is). Would you believe I have been collecting buttons for years?! (to the point of even snagging any of Christine's when she makes a purchase). I store them in a Peppermint Chews tin on the top of my dresser....I love to open it up and look inside as a pick-me-up. If I could wear your lovely necklace anywhere, my first choice would be next year when I get to be a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding. It's going to be fall then, and I know the warm color of the necklace will match my dress as well as the foliage! Keep up the good work. mary_ecker@hotmail.com

  14. My friend Christine directed me to your blog. This necklace is adorable! I would wear it vintage shopping...or wherever I happened to be wearing this teal dress of mine, which this would look PERFECT with.
