Monday, Monday. It comes too soon. I'm trying to get myself in gear for another busy week. It's that time in the semester when I'm in a near-constant tizzy of busy-ness. To get through the week, I'll be keeping these weekend moments in mind. These are the things I loved this weekend:
Kicking off "The Great Pizza Challenge." Sounds official, huh? The Great Pizza Challenge just means that K and I will be eating pizza from all (seven) of the local pizza places in our neighborhood and determining our favorite. One down, six to go.
Organizing recipes. Whew. This has been on the to-do list for a long time. Sitting down with a cup of tea in the sunlight made this chore quite enjoyable. I neatly sorted the recipes into categories and put them in a binder. Now we can easily flip through all of the recipes we've collected from blogs.
Baking Soft American-Style White Bread from this book. Yep, it tastes like white bread, except better.
Having friends over for snacks, records, and games.
Finally buying new pillows. Now it feels like I'm sleeping on a cloud. It has been so hard to get out of bed ever since.

What did you love about this weekend?

Oh yes, the giveaway winner. I didn't forget! The random number selected was 28, making Cnldesantis the winner of the Stone Blue Cable hat. Congrats, Cnldesantis! I've emailed you. Just send me your address, and I'll get the hat in the mail. You've got until Thursday to claim your prize.
If I don't hear back from the winner by Thursday, I'll select another.
what a busy but sweet weekend! I was at a conference the whole time but enjoyed myself. However, I am really looking forward to next weekend when I can just rest!
ReplyDeleteThat pizza looks seriously good....And remember, I'm from Central NY -- home of the BEST pizzas in the world. Don't you just love that bread book. I'm due to make another loaf, as my children will tell you. Welcome to another Monday.
ReplyDeletePizza and new pillows. What could be nicer!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great challenge! How fun to HAVE to eat pizza from neighborhood places! Our weekend was a good one too. My favorite was our Saturday morning: a fun, free kids concert and a walk through a sculpture garden.
ReplyDeleteHey...that my girlfriend in KY, who won the hat...so so so awesome...I know she will LOVE it. Yeah! And that pizza looks scrumptious...come to Cincinnati and our local fav place is "Italianette." Have you had Dewey's pizza (chain)? really good, too. And I just gotta say how much I love Chipotle, even though it's not pizza.
ReplyDeleteOooops...she's actually in MO now.
ReplyDeleteI must have accidentally erased the email!! if you email me again I will respond with my address! This is awesome, thank you! Cant wait to get this hat in the mail!!! :0)

I want pizza!
ReplyDeleteI love your pizza challenge! But could that really be considered a "challenge"?
ReplyDeleteI've started bookmarking recipes in a recipe folder on the computer. The struggle to organize became too great.
I savored sleep this weekend. Simple sleep.
Organizing is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my recipes. Better yet, I need to print out some of the recipes I've been finding. I might be more likely to make them rather than oohing and aaahing and then forgetting about them in cyberland.
ReplyDeleteHope your week is going well and not too hectic!
